The 4th of 5 divisional events was held on Lake Murray Saturday April 24th.
Chapin Baptist Church hosted our Friday night meeting, with a friendly bunch of guys who served up some good ole barbeque. It was a great meal, and we really do thank all of you who served us Friday.
Thanks also to Pastor Rick Jones for taking the point in organizing everything, as well as supplying a couple of songs. Thank you.
The theme Friday night revolved around homeless, and how circumstances of life are by no accident. Ronny G. shared a story about how God continued to place a person in his path for prayer, and how obedience in his daily life resulted in answered prayers.
Buddy Simmons shared about a homeless ministry he is involved in in the Simponsville area. It was eye opening to see the video of how many people live every day right in our back yard. No one willingly chooses to take that path, but many find themselves there. Our challenge was to find ways to reach out to the lost, lonely, and hurting.... just like JESUS DID.
There are TWO kinds of people:
1- Pennies who know they are pennies
2- Pennies who 'think" they are twenty dollar bills
A field of 20 boats blasted off in the rain and wind Saturday morning. The weather cleared up later in the day, but rain rolled back in during the weigh in. The bite picked up from Friday to saturday. There was no one tactic that worked for our leaders, but Al and Dane Odom found that plastic was the ticket for their 17.34 lb sack with a 4.73 lb kicker that pushed them into the lead.
The following were our leaders:
1st: 17.34 lbs; Al and Dane Odom

3rd : 15.99 lbs : David & Michell Hicks
