Cave Run Lake Results: May 19, 2012
No high water this year, but still a lot of high hopes and high spirits at Cave Run Lake on May 19th for the fourth event of the 2012 season for East Kentucky Fishers of Men.
Pastor Vernon Lambert and the church family at Salt Lick First Church of God treated the East Kentucky Division of Fishers of Men to a great meal. Thank you to the young men who did an excellent grilling of burgers and dogs. Other members of the church family provided an assortment of sides including slaw, chips, pasta salad and many deserts.
Our message time began with special music from two church brothers and a church sister. After the singing Pastor Lambert introduced our guest speaker, Brother David. Brother David spoke out of Hebrew 9:24-28, and mentioned how Jesus is NOW with the Father for US. We only need to accept His representation for us. Brother David touched all of us when he spoke of how we can sometimes even take Godly things and make them our idol. We must keep focus on why we do things not what we do.
Saturday morning started off clear and cool, but warming throughout the day. All the teams brought fish to the scales at weigh in time as the sun began to bear down and as the pleasure boaters took to the warm waters.
As the teams weighed in they were treated to hamburgers from McDonalds and soft drinks under the canopy out of the warming sun.
Thanks again to everyone at Salt Lick First Church of God and brother David for a great message, songs and food. We pray the upcoming Vacation Bible School will be a huge success.
Thanks
