On Friday night we gathered at the Jordan United Methodist Church for a meal and meeting. We shared Pizza from a local pizzaria and joined in a divotional discussion that reminded us of brothers and sisters around the world and throughout time who struggled in a world that rejects our faith. We also recognize that though we have much in this country we still face a world that would keep us from speaking and we too must stay stong in Jesus and encourage each other. In our meeting we discussed the extreme heat that was predicted, safty and shortening the day to avoid the heat of the day. Saturday we embarked at first light among many other clubs and tounaments. The weather was mild at that time with temps in the 70's. We anticipated tough fishing as the lake had been fishing very tough. Our anglers fished hard and though we didn't get an abundance of bites many quality fish came to the scales. Larry and Josh Hart fished patiently all day working a small area to bring a huge bag weighing 21.37lbs to take 1st place as well as the Big Bass at 5.32lbs. Also fishing a small area most of the day Jeff and Julie Raner boated 15.69lbs, Julie battled an impressive 4.6lb smallmouth as part that 2nd place bag. In 3rd place was a visiting team from the Maryland division Paul Wiley and John Ewerth, who filled there limit in the last hour to weigh in 14.45 lbs and a 5.04lb Largemouth.
