Father and Son team of Chris and Mason Sexton dominate of Fort Loudoun!!

~~Story by Steve Jennings
Pictures by Becca Satterfield.
Friday Night Meeting was held at Kingston Pike Baptist Church in Lenoir City.  These ladies and gentlemen of the church always do a great job of feeding and making the fishermen feel at home.  After a great meal, we all went to the church where we sang a few songs together and then Ronny Jones sang a couple songs.  Then Pastor Clint Bracket gave his testimony and man did the Holy Spirit show and hearts were moved.  We had one rededication and many hearts were filled with the spirit.

Saturday morning the Fishers of Men gang awoke to clear skies and warm breeze blowing across the lake.  This was an interesting day because the sun never came out became the Sahara Desert Storm Clouds had invaded the South which made for one of the most interesting fishing days ever in East Tennessee

But at the end of the day someone always figures it out and this day it was the father and son team of Chris and Mason Sexton.  This team said they ran up the Tennessee River to catch their fish.  Chris report catching most of their limit before 8 AM.  Chris and Mason said the caught over 25 fish with over 15 of them being keepers.  All of their fish were caught on a fluke in shallow water around rocks.  Mason reported that his dad broke off one fish and a few minutes later Mason battled a fish to the boat only to find his Dad’s bait and hook still in the fish’s mouth.  This team returned to the scales with a 5 fish limit weighing over 18 pounds which also included the lunker of the tournament.
Second place went to Pastor Rod Garrett and Paul Rogers.  This talented team ran down the lake to catch their fish flipping docks on the main channel.  This seasoned team came back with a fish limit weighing in at 12.50 pounds.
Third place went to Pastor Ronny Jones and Jake Gardner who came back with 5 fish hitting the scales at 12 pounds even. Ronny reported running their Mercury all over the mid-section of the lake to catch their fish.  This talented team caught fish on Carolina rig and some flipping.

Our next tournament will be held on July 18 with the tournament going out of Louisville Point Park.  We will not have a Friday Night Meeting but instead a Saturday Morning on the lake devotional lead by points leader Pastor Rod Garrett.  In order to avoid the $25 late fee make sure to get your entry in the mail a week before the tournament.  You can sign up the morning of the tournament but there will be a $25 late fee.
