First, Happy Easter to all of you, Jesus is a live and we celebrated that this past Friday. I found it fitting to hold this tournamnet this weekend and with the message we were given it was a great way to start the Easter weekend. Steve "Cheeseburger" Roberts shared his testimony about when he got saved and it was a powerful message. We had three rededications and that says alot for those of us who want you all to know Christ as your saviour and have a relationship with him that doesnt compare to any earthly relationship. 42 of the 43 teams attended the meeting, thus earning the additional 50 points towards the points championship. Thanks to Radford Baptist Church for a great dinner, we really appreciate your partnership in our ministry.

Our tournament blast off was on time at 7am from Smith Mountain Lake State Park. We had 43 boats competing which is one of the largest attendances we have had since our new directorship was started, to say we were excited about the new attendance record is an understatement. Thank you to all those that competed this weekend and we hope your experince was enjoyable.

Well to get to the tournament results, our First Place team this tournament was Clay and Jeffrey Ross, father and son team who caught 20.69 lbs They had a mixture of large mouth and small mouth, these guys have won a lot of tournaments on Smith Mountain Lake and we are honored to have such a great team competing with our division. Second Place was long time competitiors, Nathan Alt and Jeff Camp with a weight of 19.07 lbs with the big large mouth of 5.10lbs which took home the lunker for the tournament, Nathan and Jeff showed a few of the sticks from our area that the FOM has some legitimate contenders on any given Saturday. Third Place was Jacob Bumgarner and Alan Bumgarner another FOM regular team who had a weight of 18.53 lbs, anytime these two fish a tournament they will have a good showing and they proved that again this weekend, their weight was anchored by a 4.62 lb kicker. Fourth Place was a new team to the FOM being Luke Nichols and Gary Nichols with a weight of 17.3 lbs anchored by a 4.5lb kicker, we look forward to these two joining us again in the future. Fifth Place was won by Jored Sowers and Josh Demaury with a weight of 17.02 lbs with a 3.9 kicker, Jared and Josh have been long time supporters of the FOM and a valued team qualifyig several times in the past for the National Championship. Sixth Place was won by the father and son power fishing team of Kenneth Reynold and Ryan Reynolds with a weight of 16.96 lbs anchored by a 4.2 kicker, Kenneth fished with the FOM two years ago and you may remember he and his team mate won the first few tournaments of the season, well to say "He's Back" may put the pressure on all of you who fish the FOM regularly but he and his son Ryan have always been supporters of the FOM at heart and really enjoy the fellowship on Friday night, we are glad to have you guys back. Seventh place was won by the retired honorable Judge Black, Harold Black and Steve Crist finished with a weight of 16.79 lbs, many may know this but Harold and his former partner won back to back points championships in previous years of fishing with the FOM, he will always make a good showing, glad to have you back on the FOM trail. Eigth Place was won by the new combined team of Richard "Mac" Addair and Larry Witt, both of these guys have fished with the FOM in the past and are not really new comers to our division, we hope they can come back and join us again this year. Congratulations to all those that took home a check as we paid out eight places and paid out a total of $4,850.00 including bonus bucks and lunker, this was the biggest payout we have had since starting as directors.

Finishing just out of the money was Cody Griffey and Joe WIlkerson with a weight of 16.35 lbs and will be rewared with two J.B. Custom Rods at the next tournament meeting if they attend and join us for the Claytor Lake tournament. You must be present to get this award, if not it will go to the next team.

This past friday was a good example of why its important, as the church was only aware of 80 folks and the additonal 10 to 15 folks that came caused a shortage of food and the last table had to wait to eat their meal, thank you to those guys for the patients they showed.
