We kicked off our 1st tournament of the year on Lake Palestine. Palestine as really given up some heavy stringers the last four years, and this tournament was no different. We had 54 teams that took out of the Village Marina on their quest to land Mr. Bucketmouth. We weighed in 183 fish that averaged 3.28 lbs. We paid ten places and it took 19.60 lbs to draw a check. Our winning sac went to Robby Leach & Scott Jenkins. Their 5 fish weighed 26.83 lbs. Scott also had a 10.38 lb kicker. They won $4,489.50. Not bad for a $150.00 entry fee. Coming in 2nd place was James Matthews & Justin Spoerl with 25.73 lbs. They won $2,251.50 We had three fish over 10.Lbs Marc Mayo's 10.86; Scott's 10.38; Brian Spalding's 10.26

There was several patterns working Saturday. Some fish were caught on Jig's, some on spinnerbaits, some on Sinko's, Lizards, Creature baits, Crankbaits. Just whichever bait that an angler had the most confidence in.
We also awarded the highest place Male/Female team out of the money with $150.00. Husband and wife Danny & Leisa Ginn won that. And the highest placed Adult/Junior team with the same. Matt & Jaycee Hutchins won that.
We paid out 109%, not counting bonus bucks.
We want to thank Central Baptist Church for hosting our meeting and feeding us. Thanks goes to Matt Hutchins for grilling all of the hamburgers. They tasted great. We would also like to thank Tate Kennedy for bringing the message. He shared his testimony with us how God had called him into the Mission Field. He used the example of Gideon, how God had called him to destroy Israel's enemy's. Gideon started out with 32,000 soldiers and God sent all but 300 home, so that God would get the credit.
Our next tournament will be on Lake Tyler on March 4. Our Friday night meeting will be at Friendly Baptist Church, 1903 E. Front St., Tyler
