 Our 2nd event of the season began with our Friday night meeting at Hendrick Southpoint. This is the 3rd year that Larry Phelps, the general manager and his staff have hosted our pre-tournament meeting. If you can imagine feeding 160 people in a dealership's service department that gives you an idea how large and clean this facility is.Ed Strickland and his volunteers of Colonial Baptist Church cooked prime rib, potatoes, veggies, salad anf of course dessert. We thank Ed and his outdoor ministry for their hard work and Larry Phelps and Hendrick for providing the food.

Our speaker was the N.C. crappie master, Mr. Rod King. His message was on Peter's faith when Jesus told him to push his boat out into deep water and let down down his nets after fishing all night and catching nothing. When Peter listened to Jesus and trusted him, his nets filled with fish! This was a turning point for Peter as he realized who Jesus really was. Point being, if you miss Jesus you miss the boat!  We had 14 re-dedications and many prayer requests!

Sat April 1st:

The 58 boat field had a beautiful day to find the nice bags of fish that Jordan Lake has been putting out for the last few weeks. When the 1st flight started coming in it looked like it was going to be a good day. As the dust settled (pollen) the fathr son team of Maury and Luke Turner brought in 27.34 lbs  taking 1st place of $3,103.00 which included Bass Pro and raffle money!  Not bad for 58 boats!

2nd place was another father son team of David and Allen Farman with 25.12 lbs. and 2nd place winnings of $1,509.50

3rd place was the first year team of Corey Shotwell and Dustin Long with 23.38 lbs and a $990.50 pay check.

4th place was another 1st year team of John McBride and Chris Barnes with 21.68 lbs. and a payday of $465.00.

5th place was the team of Chris Wood and Mark Sherrer. Their weight was 21.23 lbs. which included the big fish of 9.37 lbs. Total earnings for Mark and Chris was $771.00

Next event is April 22nd at Falls Lake. Our Friday night ( April 21) meeting will be at Bible Baptist Church. Looking forward to seeing you there.
