Henderson, N.C.  Kerr Lake  May 13, 2017

We were at Central Baptist Church in Henderson, NC for our 4th Friday night meeting of the 2017 season. The guys and gals will be on Kerr Lake (aka) Buggs Island on Saturday. Central Baptist Church was one of the first 4 churches to host an event way back in 1998! The staff of Central Baptist and Pastor Randy Mann provided an awesome meal of pork loin, baked potatoes, veggies and homemade desserts. We are so blessed with the churches that take care of us in NC Central!

Pastor Randy brought a timely message on how we are to grow as believers. "Performance Fishing Gear"

P- Pray daily prayer with our God;  F-Feed ourselves with God's word: G-Gather,  meet regularly with other Christians in fellowship to be encouraged. In our walk with Christ, we must be moving forward to grow. If we are not doing these three things, we are like a truck and a bass boat trailer being launched. If the driver doesn't keep his foot on the brakes, the trailer and truck will go backwards into the water. We must continue to grow and move forward in our walk of faith!

The weather was uncertain for Sat. The lake had been at a very high level for about 2 weeks due to all the rains we had. The Corp. of Engineers had been pulling the lake hard for the last few days, The fish had been hard to pattern. Overcast skies for most of the tournament hours seemed to help. Out of 59 boats there were 48 limits brought to the scales.

The 1st place team of Sam and Aaron Fisher squeezed out the win with 15.88 lbs. They took home $3,238.00.

2nd place Roger Clary and Justin Rhew were very close behind with 15.83 lbs. They took home $1,499.00

3rd place was the team of Jason Suggs and Calton Hall with 15.79 lbs.

4th place team of Lonnie Fox and Alan Revels were right behind with 15.11 lbs.

5th place was the 1st year team of Nolan Eller and Luke Farrington sponsored by Skyline Marine and Bass Cat Boats with 14.73 lbs.

Big fish weighed 5.50 lbs and was caught by Chuck Morton. He and his partner,Jason Grant placed eight in the tournament.

See everyone at Lake Gaston  on June 10th for our final event. Will John McBride and Chris Barnes win points champions?
