June 9th Lake Gaston Baptist Church

This is the final event of the N.C. Central 2017 season. It is also my final event as N.C. Central Director. This has been an amazing ride but age catches up with us. I look forward to serving the Lord in Fishers of Men where ever I can.  Heartfelt thanks to John Snincak and his Dad for coming to share and spend time with us at the meeting. Everyone was glad to see them!

Lake Gaston Baptist Church has been the longest running partner (18 years) of any of our host churches. Nancy and all the staff really take care of us. We had N.C. barbque, baked beans, slaw and great dessert with ice cream.

Long time friend and member of Lake Gaston Baptist Church, Brad Antil brought the message. His question was  " Are we sincere about our worship or are we just going through the motions"  The Lord wants all of us not just a couple of hours on Sunday mornng while even then we may still be thinking of fishing, etc. This was a hard hitting message that we all needed to hear! We had six re-dedications.

June 10th Summit Landing

Due to all the heavy rains in the last six weeks, the Roanoke river was stained more than usual. The talk Friday evening was the bite was goint to be tough, of course that is what they always say! As the first flight started coming in, it seemed the predictions were true. The fishing was tough for Gaston. There were only 18 limits out of 51 boats.

Taking 1st place was the team of Chuck Murray and Randy Groves with 16.17 lbs.Second place was Mike Cox and Mike Carden at 14.47 lbs.  3rd place was the father and son team of Maury and Luke Turner with 14.20 lbs. Larry Jacobs and Randy Fisher took 4th place with 14.11 lbs. Another father and son team, Howard and Justin Bohannon took 5th place with 13.22 lbs. Justin also caught the big fish of the tournament weighing 5.40 lbs.  We will soon be posting the teams that are eligible for the District Championship at Falls Lake in October. This will be the ticket to the National Championship at Lake Guntersville, AL in the spring of 2018.
