Congratulations to Rodney and Roger Porter catching 22.33 pounds to win the NC Piedmont event on High Rock Lake.

Our second event was held on High Rock Lake this weekend for a post-cold front fish catching fest.  We started the weekend with our friends over at High Rock Church.  Mike, Andy and Randy welcomed us in to their church with a good meal of brats and beans.  Randy Saunders the men’s ministry leader, share a message with the anglers.  He spoke on choices that we make and what is our choice with Jesus.  There was one person who recommitted their life to Christ.

We came off a pretty cold week with a wet forecast for blast-off on Saturday Morning and the temperatures in the low 40’s.  All 36 teams blasted off and headed out in the rain for a long day of fishing.  Later in the morning the rain finally ceased and broke away to clear skies and a slight breeze which ended up being good for fishing.

Our First-Place Winners of Rodney and Roger Porter ended up with 22.33 and earned $1,700.  Second Place was taken by Justin Rutherford and Chad Holden with 21.41 pounds earning $751.  Rounding out the top 3 was CJ Johnston and Matt Stanley with 20.77 pounds and a check for $532.  The big fish of 9.07 pounds was caught by Nathan Williams and assisted by Ryan Henry.  From what I could get out of these guys many of the fish were caught up shallow on jigs.
