Results from the March 4th. event at Bull Shoals
We have to begin by recognizing our church host for the Friday night meeting, the First Baptist Church in Diamond City.  The pastor, Brother Don Rose, and the church members really put forth an effort to make us feel welcome.  The teams were greeted by a welcome sign on the church message board as they entered the city, but that was just a hint of things to come.  In the meeting room a church member did a wonderful job of painting our logo on a large dry erase board.  Colorful crepe paper fish hung from the ceiling.  A small display featured an antique “Red River” reel.  How many folks have even heard of one of those?  The meal they prepared would rival that of Golden Corral’s buffet - Venison stew, several chili dishes, grilled hot dogs for chili dogs, cornbread, homemade apple pies, brownies, cookies, and much more!  Enough to make any dieter cave!  Brother Don Rose delivered an inspirational message that resulted in two rededications.  If you’re looking for a church home in the area, check them out.
Saturday morning saw the teams take off to a slight breeze that turned into a strong wind as the day progressed.  Strong enough to test trolling motor batteries.  Despite that, decent weights were posted.
Coming in first was the team of Cledas Manuel and Dave Austin.  They weighed in a limit of 14.96 pounds throwing Alabama Rig and jigs.  They also hauled in a hawg Drum for the top junk fish.  They collected the first place check as well as first place in the bonus bucks pot.  The Drum was caught on a jig and earned them $100.00.  They have the support of Evinrude, Modern Woodmen, and MoTan Tanning.
Second place was earned by a new member adult/youth team – Kenny Gippons and his grandson, Ty Hannaford.  They caught a limit weighing 14.00 pounds in the Buck Creek area.  Fishing was good for them – a total of 13 keepers.  11 year old Ty caught the heaviest 5 that were weighed in.  Besides second place, they finished second in the bonus bucks.  The fish were caught on swim baits.  Ideal RV is a sponsor for them.
Third was the team of Kevin and Bryan Jackson with a limit that weighed 13.19 pounds, fishing from the east Sugarloaf to Bee Creek area, using an Alabama Rig.
