George Headden and Rick Ellis win Watts Bar

Fishers of Men fourth tournament meeting was held at Whites Creek Baptist Church which is always a treat for the teams because this church provided some great home cooking. After a great meal Pastor Roger Britton preached a great sermon where one person got saved and we had two rededications.
First place went to the team of George Headdon and Rick Ellis. This team came to the scales with a five fish limit that hit the scales at 15.53 pounds. This winning bag also included the lunker of the tournament a fat 5.56-pound largemouth bass. George and Rick reported running to the mid-section of the lake to catch their fish on a Carolina rig. They focused on points and drop offs that went from 12 to 20 feet deep. Rick Ellis Home Inspection sponsors this team.
Second place went to Rod Garret and Paul Rogers who came to the scales with 15.09 pounds of bass. Rod reported running over a 100 miles to catch their fish. Rod and Paul reported catching their fish in less than five feet of water. They did however stay on the main lake points to catch them.
3rd place went to Von Delbeck and Keith McDeerman who brought 5 bass to the scales weighing in at 13.92. Keith reported running up to Kingston to catch their fish on a big worm and jig fishing as deep as 20 feet to catch their fish. Holston Gas and C&E Outdoors sponsor this team.
4th place went to the. Chester Wooten and Timothy Vandover. This joyful team came back with 4 bass weighing in at 13.16 pounds. Tim reported catching a 5.55-pound lunker on his first cast of the day. What a way to start!! Chester and Tim reported using a worm and a jig to catch their fish in water less than 10 feet deep. Southeast Apparatus and C&E Outdoors sponsor this team.
5th place went to the team of George Galyon JR and Eugene Randolph who came to the scales with 12.96 pounds of bass. This talented team used a jig and Carolina rig to catch their fish. George reported running his Mercury Outboard all over Watts Bar Lake fishing waters 8 to 15 feet deep.
The White Pine Marine Lucky Dog award, which means they were one place out of the money, and that White Pine Marine, will pay their entry fee on next month’s tournament on Cherokee Lake, went to Jake Gardner and Don Stamey
