We finished up the Alabama Northeast Legacy season at Weiss Lake. In my opinion there is not a better place for a Legacy event than Litttle River Marina and Lodge. Bill and his crew always do a great job accomodating Fishers of Men.Little River has that "old" fish camp feel about it and I love the place. The shaded weigh in area and the awesome pavilion that they have added make a Legacy event perfect. It was a beautiful June day in Alabama and our 9 teams headed out on the lake in search of those 5 fish that would win the tournament.Of course we know that all of the participants of a Legacy event are "WINNERS" just by taking the time to fish with a young person.

Josh Bragg and Noah Armstrong brought in 5 fish that weighed 17.42 anchored by a beautiful 6.64 largemouth caught by Noah to take 1st place and the $392 1st place/Big Bass money. Steven and Steven Jr. Corvin caught 11.14 lbs to land in 2nd place and took home $195 for their efforts. Finishing 3rd and taking our last paying spot was the team of Sean and Leslie Terrell with 9.52 including a nice 5.06 lber to take home $108.

After we finished the weigh in we moved to the pavilion and Tim Miller from Majestic Outdoors shared a message about "removing the masks" that we wear many times and encouraged us to live our lives being faithful and true to God. Many of us have looked into the mirror and let the mask even fool us that we are sincerely serving and loving God with all of our hearts. Thanks Tim for sharing a message that we ALL needed to hear!!

Jimmy, Brody, and Cole Mithchel finished today in 4th place, but that finish was good enough to wrap up the 2017 Legacy points championship for our division. They took home the $150 bonus and qualified for the Legacy spot for the Alabama Northeast division at the Alabama State Championship in September. As we wrap up this year, it wraps up mine and Tammy's time with Fishers of Men and we are very greatful to have been able to serve and meet so many great people. As always I will be following many of these young people as they move on to high school, college, and even seen some fish pro level events that have fished with us through the years. There will always be a special place in my heart for the FOM Legacy Series. God truly uses this series in so many ways and I thank HIM for what HE has done. To God Be The Glory!!
