What an awesome event we had on Bull Shoals lake!! First of all we want to sent a big "THANK YOU" to Pastor Don and First Baptist Church of Diamond City. How many tournament fisherman can say that the entry fee covered the tournament fee and home made lasagna, spaghetti, salad and apple pie. This was the inaugural event of the Missouri/Ozark and Arkansas division "Battle of the Boarder" event!
We were honored to have Mr Jerry Mckinnis and Carl Svebek fishing with us this weekend also! You just never know who you will see or meet at a Fishers of Men event!
The practice reports all came back about the same, "fishing was tough". Even though the conditions seemed to be perfect, wate level 665.35, (which put the buck brush submerged out to about 10-15 feet and out along the bans), clear to stained water, water temperature ranging from 55 -61 degrees, over cast conditions with wind from 5-15 mph., but someone forgot to tell the fish to bite!
Once again, for the 3rd straight time Chuck Smith and Mike Moore took 3rd Bonus Bucks and this time 3rd overall with a 10.16lb stinger, using crawdad baits in shollow water.
Team Jackson (Kevin & Bryan), throwing the A-rig, and Brush hogs along channel swings manged a nice limit at 11.14lb with a 2.14lb kicker to finish in 2nd overall and 2nd in Bonus Bucks, they also brought in a 3.15lb walleye to take our junk fish pot!
Cledas Manuel and Dave Austin came out on top for the 2nd time this year and breaking the 3 way tie with a12.12lb sack and a 2.15lber to take Big Bass and Bonus Bucks! The 5 fish limit came on a jig and a texas rigged green pumpkin lizard in water depths of about 15-20' deep on points. It's going to be a tight and exciting race to the very end!
