The SC Lowcountry Division kicked off our final event of the 2018 season on Friday night as the fine folks at First Baptist Manning fed our anglers a delicious meal of Pork Tenderloin, mashed potatoes, baked beans and rolls. Afterwards my old college roomate Phillip Reynolds who is the Pastor there gave us a great message. Thanks Manning First!
Saturday morning dawned overcast with a little wind as our anglers left the dock in search of the famed Brutes that make Santee Cooper one of the best lakes in the country. Just about every tournament held there this spring has taken upper 20's to low 30's to win and once again Santee did not disappoint. The always strong team of Chris Epting and Johnny Mayer dropped 30.01 lbs on the scales to take the win and the $5000 winners check. What was equally amazing is that they did this without a 7 lber in their bag! Great Jobs Guys!
Finishing 2nd was the team of Danny Lowery and Perry Holloway whose limit pushed the scales to 23.16 lbs and earned them $1500. Coming in 3rd with 22.92 lbs and Big Fish at 7.99 lbs was the team of Jess Williams and Ryan Steen who took home $1225.
Finishing 4th was the team of Jamie Glasscock and Jim Smoak with 22.74 lbs. while rounding out the top 5 was the team of Doug Wooldridge and Eddie Coto who brought 22.46 lbs to the scales.
Overall fishing was great on the old lady as it took almost 20 lbs to finish in the money and over 17 1/2 lbs to make the top 20.
