Our first Legacy event for 2018 is history. Seventeen boats showed up at the Moundwood ramp at Indian Lake on Saturday morning with hopes of starting the season off with a full bag of fish.
The weather was fair for an April tournament in Ohio, and at sunrise the boats left the launch site and headed in all directions looking for the winning bag. At 1:00 all boats returned to the weigh-in site and started bringing fish to the scales.
Our first tournament winners were last year’s points champions, Ty and Justen Fain, with five bass weighing 13.36 lbs. including the tournament’s big bass weighing 4.56 lbs. Great start guys! The team of Tom and Wyatt Greenwood took second with a limit weighing 9.70 lbs. Third place with two fish weighing 6.23 lbs. went to Ed and Carter Elliot. Rodney and Savanna Spencer were fourth with 6.19 lbs., followed by Andy and Mylie Moser with 6.15 lbs.
There were a total of three limits and 49 bass weighed in.
After the weigh-in the fishermen were treated to hot dogs, chips, and cookies. Our Chaplin John Norris talked with everyone there about the importance of having a relationship with Jesus. After the message and prizes for the tournament winners, awards all the kids were given a lot of handouts donated by our sponsors.
