A GLORIOUS DAY IT WAS DESPITE THE SUB-TROPICAL STORM APPROACHING!
Fishers of Men, Alabama South had its 2nd and final legacy for the 2018 season this weekend. Our Friday night meeting was held at Camden Methodist Church in Camden, AL. We had a great night and had 30 present at the meeting Friday night. We had two special guest speakers for this tournament meeting. Brother Tim Floyd, the division chaplain and brother Brian Dovey from Camden Methodist Church. They both spoke on the same subject message and did not even meet each other until about 10 minutes before the meeting started. It’s amazing how GOD Works! Brother Brian spoke from the book of Deuteronomy, Moses reiterates the TEN COMMANDMENTS. Reminds us of sinfulness of the past. GOD’S word is always living and active. Moses gives us instruction on what to do with idols. These days we don’t take sin seriously. Moses burned and crushed the idol calf and sent it down a stream. We know our temptations and we should remove them from our lives thoroughly so we can live the holy life GOD intended. Brother Tim spoke from the book of Mark when JESUS came from the wilderness. Temptation is something everyone battles so repent and believe the gospel. That is the way JESUS began his ministry. JESUS will find us. We are going to be busy. When JESUS chooses you, he knows everything about you and will call you by your name. To follow JESUS you may have to give up something to follow him, as Simon and Andrew did when JESUS walked by the sea of Galilee and said follow me and I will make you to become fishers of men. They threw down their nets immediately and followed him. Sin will cost you your life. Be ready to free yourself at all times. Let go of anything that holds you back from following Jesus. . Thank You Brother Tim and Brother Brian for the words of encouragement and reminding us to serve only GOD and to free yourself from sin that holds us back from following our Lord savior JESUS Christ. We had 4 rededications. At the end of the night we had 13 boats fishing on Saturday. We blasted the 13 boats off as soon as it was safe light. Congratulations to the Team of Zac and Zhane White who brought 5 fish to the scales that weighed 14.78 pounds to take 1st place and had the big bass of the tournament that weighed 4.54 pounds. Second place team of Jeff Lewis and Colby Lewis weighed in 8.77 lbs. Third place went to the team of Lucas and Colton Trotter with a weight of 8.09 lbs. Fourth place went to the team of Danny and Gunner Parker with a weight of 6.96 lbs. Rounding out the top 5 was Daniel Kelly and Logan Misenar with 6.94 lbs. At the end of the day there were 43 bass brought to the scales. The 43 bass weighed a total of 76.02 lbs.
