Greg and Zac Gooch bring home $3,200 for their 1st place finish on Badin.

North Albemarle Baptist Church hosted our Friday night banquet.

We always look forward to North Albemarle Baptist because the hospitality is just over the top. The food was wonderful as always, a slow cooked brisket that had been savoring since 4:30 am. After the meal we were given God's word from speaker Rick Lowden and it was a blessing. I want to thank all the staff at North Albemarle Baptist for an awesome night and a special thanks to Curtis Cox and Shawn Williams.

Saturday was another hot and muggy day. Because of the heat index and boat traffic the tournament hours were scheduled from 5:45am until 2pm. Despite the hot weather and lack of current there were several good fish caught. Greg and Zac Gooch took 1st place winnings of $3,200 with a weight of 22.56 lbs. 2nd place went to Jason and Scott Threadgill with 19.38 lbs. and winnings of $1,120. 3rd place winnings of $780 went to Michael Kinard and Tony Lambert with 17.92 lbs. Dustin Calloway and Jesse Wensil took 4th place with 16.94 lbs and the team of Gerald Ritchie and Brett Chappell took 5th place with 16.46 lbs. and BIG fish of 5.89 lbs.

The point’s championship came down to the wire. The team of CJ Johnston and Matt Stanley and the team of Robert Mixon and Scott Henley ended up in a tie. The first tie breaker is the total cumulative net weight for the season and with 104.71 lbs. that went to Johnston and Stanley. Congratulations on a great year!

The top 24 teams in our 2018 year ending point’s standings have qualified to fish the District 4 Championship on Falls Lake October 27th. If you have fished five tournaments in any combination of divisions you are qualified to fish any District Championship.

We will be reviewing the survey sheets and will be looking at making any changes that could improve our division for next season.

It was a privilege to be your director this year and I want to thank all of you for your help and support this season. I'm looking forward to next year. 

Congratulations to Randy Weddington who will receive the Bass Pro $250 gift certificate for the most dollars of purchases from Bass Pro of Concord and Jonathan Hatley for big fish of the season who will receive a rod and reel combo.
