Thank you, Dutch Fork Baptist Church, for welcoming the FOM Berkley Team Series SC Upstate Division to your church once again and for serving us a delicious meal of BBQ pork, baked beans, coleslaw, and banana pudding.

Many thanks to Dutch Fork pastor and former host of Adventure Bound Outdoors, Chuck McAllister, for sharing some of his testimony about where God has led him in his ministry and for presenting the Gospel in an allegory that none of us who heard it will soon forget!  The story was about a terminally ill man whose doctor friend gave all his money, possessions, and ultimately, his son's life in a car accident in trying to get the dying man the ultra-expensive cure he needed in order to live. Instead of gratitude and accepting the cure, the dying man smashed the cure against the wall, rejecting the one thing that would save him, and dishonoring his friend's sacrifices. 

There were 2 anglers that accepted the challenge on Friday night and made a first-time decision to follow Christ.  CONGRATULATIONS!!  Also, four others indicated that they wanted to renew their commitment to Christ.  We are honored to be a part of this ministry bringing anglers and their families into a relationship with Jesus.  That is, after all, our mission.

57 teams competed in the Lake Murray tournament.  Saturday morning was clear and a little chilly as we watched the full moon set, but the temperature rose steadily to a pleasant mid-70s by weigh-in.  

We expected Lake Murray to yield some great catches, and this tournament was no disappointment.  The big fish was just over 7 pounds!

Rounding out the top three were:

1st Place & Big Fish-  Wayne Davenport and Russell Dobbins- 20.59 lb & 7.08 lb

2nd Place-  Russell Clark and Chris Myers- 19.87 lb

3rd Place-  Keith Camak and Jeff Smith- 19.24 lb

The points race this season is a nail-biter, so stay tuned!!
