~~Our first Friday night meeting was hosted by the Camden United Methodist Church. The Camden UMC men’s group prepared an outstanding spaghetti meal with salad and garlic bread. The Camden UMC women’s group prepared some delicious desserts to finish off the meal. Pastor Marc O’Neal brought the message “Finding your Sanctuary” emphasizing your Sanctuary is the place where you can spend time with God. What a great message!
Saturday morning began with a beautiful sunrise on the Pasquotank River however the temperatures were in the low 40’s with a 5-10 mph breeze out of the northwest. The teams launched from the Waterfront Park ramp in Elizabeth City. 26 Boats launched and two boats dropped out before the take-off. The water temperatures ranged from 45 degrees in the main river to the upper 50’s in the backs of the creeks. Conditions were tough for the fisherman but as you can imagine several teams brought in some nice limits of bass. The team of Chris Turner and Quinton Chappel brought in five fish limit that that weighed 17.64 pounds.  Their catch netted them a $1,202.00 check for first place in the tournament and $250.00 check for first place bonus bucks. Second Place went to the team of John Kellett and Michael Kellett. Their five fish limit weighed in at 14.49 pounds anchored by the big fish of the tournament that was 4.71 pounds. They received a $531.00 for second place, $150.00 second place bonus bucks and $130.00 for the big fish. Third place went to the team of Thomas Jones and Steve Albertson who weighed in a five fish limit that weighed 11.64 pounds and netted them a check for $354.00. They also took home a $100.00 check for third place bonus bucks. Fourth place went to the team of Kevin Jones and Gerald Murray with five fish limit weighing 11.46 pounds. They received $228.00 for their effort. The adult/ junior team of Brandon Johnson and Wilson Johnson finished in fifth place with a catch of 10.33 pounds. They took home a check for $155.00.
