Congratulations to District 4 Champions Bobby Carter & John (JD) Talley
Day 2 of the District 4 Championship was quite an improvement on the weather even though it was a little colder. The skies were still overcast with occasional sunburst breaking through. This was causing some concern for many of the anglers not knowing what to expect with uncertainty of the weather.
The fishing did seem to improve for the second day. Teams were trying to capture one of the nine spots that would get them qualified for the national championship on Lake Hartwell in April 2019. Fall lake is know for large bass that can change the standing very quickly. Today was not any different when the team of Talley and Carter came to weigh in their catch. It was evident from the bump sink and the gasps that they had a limit that was going to set the bar high for the field.
JD and Bobby came to the scales with at 5 fish limit weighing 15.96 pounds. They key to their limit was the big fish of the tournament weighing in at 9.48lbs which they caught on a chatter bait. What a great experience for the adult junior team. Less than a half a pound behind was the team of Moody and Lobaugh with 22.12 pounds for their two day total. Rounding out the top 3 was Smith and Weddington with 21.47 pounds. Great job to all of the anglers fishing under such tough weather conditions.
