Day 2 from District 8 Championship on Kentucky Lake, the weather for day 2was about the same as day one, calm winds with warm and muggy conditions. After the playing of our National Anthem the 42 teams were sent off in search of the elusive bass and trying to bring a 5 fish limit to the scales at the end of the day hoping to have a large enough weight for 2 days to advance them to the National Championship on Lake Hartwell in April of 2019.

Day one leaders Steve Stewart and Johnny Creel from Ga. South Division were trying to hold on to the lead, Steve and Johnny brought only 3 fish to the scales on day two weighing 11.40 lbs. caped off with a 5.59 Largemouth helping them to take the victory with a total weight of 28.87 lbs. for the two days.

Steve and Johnny caught their fish throwing a Carolina Rig for the 2 days tipped with a Brush Hog on a 6’ leader. Steve said the 6’ leader was the key to catching the fish, Steve said they the boat was sitting in 20’ of water and throwing up into 8’ of water.

Second Place went to the KY SC team of Keith and Joshua Southerland with a total weight of 27.99 lbs. for the 2 days. Keith and Joshua caught their on a ¾ oz. stand up jig head topped with a Magnum Finesse worm in 8-12’ of water next to Steep Rock Banks.

The KY LBL team of Joey Schmidt and Bobby Griffith finished in 3rd place with a 2 day total of 27.47 lbs. Fourth Place went to the KY SC Team of Jason Bean and Brian Dillard bringing 24.11 lbs. for the 2 days.

Chad and Lynne Long from KY LBL finished 8th and were the highest finishing Male/Female Team.
KY LBL Steve Timmons and Dawson Dimmett were the highest finishing A/J team giving them a berth into the 2019 National Championship.
