2018 Midwest Region - District 10 Championship
With the title of District 10 Champions on the line, the Anglers arrived for the 5:30 a.m. boat check on Saturday morning. The launch was held again under cool and calm conditions with a light fog covering the lake. Boats were launched at safe light in hopes of catching up to the Day 1 leaders who hope to hold off the rest of the field. At 3:00 p.m., boats returned to the ramp and started bringing their catch to the scales.
Day 1 leaders Tim Maupin and Chris Burke from Indiana South, brought another limit of fish to the scales weighing 10.91 lbs and took 1st place with a total weight of 23.33 lbs. They also had the big fish of Day 2 at 3.65 lbs. Congratulations Tim and Chris for qualifying for the National Championship as District 10 Champions! The Indiana South team of John Santos and Matt McClannahan weighed in one fish for 2.14 lbs on Day 2, which was enough to secure 2nd Place with a total weight of 12.97 lbs, and qualifying for the National Championship. The Indiana North team of Bill and Roxanne Kehl checked in with 4 bass weighing 9.30 lbs to give them 3rd place overall with a total weight of 11.95 lbs. Bill and Roxanne qualified for the National Championship by finishing as the top male/female team in the District 10 Championship. The Ohio team of Justen and Ty Fain also qualified for the National Championship as the highest finishing adult/junior team with a total weight 9.11 lbs.
