Day two of the Fishers of Men National Championship at Lake Guntersville dawned a carbon copy of day one.  Winds were a little steadier but the fishing seemed to be picking up.  Some of the anglers reported seeing good numbers of fish moving up on beds to spawn. 

Today the baits of choice were all over the map with jigs, chatterbaits, crankbaits senkos and even a Carolina rig.  The top 32 teams that made the cut to the championship event were from several divisions across the country. The leaders of the pack after day two was the Kentucky South Central Team of Donovan Smith and Larry Baldock with a two-day total of 40.94lbs.  A close second was C.J. Johnston and Matt Stanley from the NC Piedmont with 40.68lbs.  Third place team of Johnny Creel and Steve Stewart with 40.25lbs.  Forth place was long time Maryland anglers Paul Wiley and Jon Crans with 38.22lbs.  Rounding out the top 5 was the Alabama East Legacy team of Kent and Emily Ware with 37.74lbs.

There is a big concern that day three may have to be canceled due to a severe storm moving eastward. The leadership team will make the final call at 5:00AM Saturday morning as was discussed during the championship meeting.  Safety comes first for our anglers.  If day three is canceled then the two day cumulative weight will stand as the final results.
