WOW!! What a fantastic start to our 2019 season!!

Mineral Baptist Church were once again gracious hosts to us this year. We had 38 teams sign up for this event and all 38 were in attendace at our meeting! After a fantastic BBQ meal, complete with brownies and ice cream dessert, Pastor Josh Turner, provided a fantastic message about no matter how many times we fall or fail Jesus is always there with his unending grace to give us a mulligan, that we can start new in Him, that really resonated with many in attendance. Praise God we had 1 new profession of faith in Christ, and 8 re-commitments of faith!!

Saturday morning was fairly cold and the clouds hung around for most of the day, Lake Anna as usual, provided a full range of results for our anglers, this certainly is a tough fishery that has the potential of producing very large bags at the same time. a feast or famine lake.  The team of Walter Hill and Michael Hill feasted this day with a winning bag of 20.91lbs also winning Bonus Bucks, they went home with a little over $1700! The team of Eric Rowe and Eddie Griggs were second with 19.60 lbs wich included the events 6.60lb big fish! They were also the second place Bonus Buck team and earned just shy of $1000 for their days work! Michael ans Mark Heatwole held down out third place spot and were also our third place bonus bucks team with 14.25lbs! They were also our first winners of the new Berkley Cast for Cash program, second place for our Cast for Cash teams wast the team of Bart/Anderson who were 14th place in the event, Showing how benificial it can be to sign up for the contingincy programs! Lewis Williams and Mariley Furrow finished in 8th one spot out of the money but went home with two Berkley E-Motion rods. The Team of Bill and Billy Richardson were our "Perserverance Award" winners of two Green Top giftcards.

I want to sincerely thank everyone for making this seasons kick off event an awesome one! We had many returning teams, some former FOM teams coming back and may new teams at this event. I enjoied seeing those I know again and look forward to getting to know all the new and "new to me" faces. Im excited to serve you this season and look forward to seeing you all at the rest of the events... next up, Buggs Island on March 30th!
