Tournament Four 2019

Texas East’s fourth tournament of the year was an experiment in doing a one day event.  We kicked off registration at 4:30am on Friday morning at Fin and Feather Resort on Toledo Bend and blasted off 42 teams to see what they could do on a rainy and windy day.  Toledo Bend did not disappoint with the winning sacks being 32.51 and 28.83!  The Ed Parten Big Bass money went to Cody Pitt with a 10.52 sow!  Pitt and his partner, Masters, had the winning sack followed by our three tournament champs, Nassar and Thibodeaux who hit the scales with the 28.83 sack.  Tater and William Reynolds rounded off out top three with a 19.26 five fish stringer.

Immediately following weigh in, at Fin and Feather’s conference center, we hosted a great BBQ chicken and sausage meal that was provided by Skero Furniture.  Our message was brought by our chaplain’s son, Bobby West as he challenged us all to be radical in our leadership at home, in our work places and even in our churches if we want to turn this country around from the depths that it has fallen.  Many thanks to Bobby for sharing his heart  and passion with us.

Missions update!

Once again the men in this division have stepped up in a big way as they dug deep into their pockets to donate to our “Fishing to Feed Children’s Mission .  We had over $1000.00 in donations to feed the kids in Brazil!!  These men continue to show unbelievable giving hearts!

None of this would happen if it weren’t for the incredible volunteer staff that work tirelessly for hours and hours to make this even something the Lord would be proud of.  My heart is overwhelmed with appreciation for all that they do.  Special thanks go out to Leonard and Cheryl Claridy for hauling up the food, setting up and serving us.  So many thanks to the crew that worked so hard to set up and tear down the meeting and tourament,  Coy and  Cindy Jennings, Gary Baker,  Joe and Stephanie Sekel and their daughter Riley, Kristi and Zeke Richey,  Rick Saunders,  Dan Hilton, Aubrey Lewis, Jim Spitzmiller and Will Eller.  Special thanks goes out to the youth from Six Mile Baptist Church!!

Thanks to all of our local sponsors, Beacon Wealth Management, Jason Dew, Gary Baker, Laurie Baker of Dew Drop Jewelry, Charles Stoker, Leonard and Cheryl Claridy, Kistler Rods, Big Help Desk, Fin and Feather Resort ,  First Baptist Church of Hemphill and First Baptist Church of Broaddus.
