A BEAUTIFUL AND WARM DAY FOR OUR SECOND TOURNAMENT OF THE 2019 SEASON

     Fishers of Men, Alabama South’s 2019 season is off to a great start.  Our Friday night meeting was held at Mexia Baptist Church in Frisco City, AL. We had a great Friday night with 37 present at the meeting.  Jason started his message by sharing fond fishing memories from his childhood and he then asked a few questions. What is chaos? Why is it still chaotic this day in time? What do we do to make it through the chaos? Several definitions of chaos were suggested from the group. Meanings such as: evil, confusion, disorder. This is Satan’s goal. Satan wants us overwhelmed and lost in chaos. When Satan and a third of the angels from Heaven descended to Earth and destroyed it, the Lord created something beautiful from the destruction. He commanded there to be light, and so it was. He commanded the land to form from darkness and so it was. Beauty from chaos. Chaos this day in time is because we are given the choice to follow Jesus or do it our own way. Most will not surrender their life to the Lord and let him guide their lives so they are always in chaos.  To get through these chaotic times you need to do three things: Surrender to Christ, Focus and Breathe. Galatians, Chapter 2, tells us to surrender everything to the Lord. Also, in Galatians, Chatter 3, it tells the Lord is in control and to let go. The Lord has already won the battle. The Lord often sends us into chaos to teach us to trust and obey him. He is the controller of all things, including chaos.  He wants to teach us Faith and show his power in these situations. A great example of this comes from the story of the storm on the Sea of Galilee, Mark Chapter 6. In this story, the disciples were sent across the sea of Galilee in a storm without Jesus. They were frantic and afraid but Jesus was in control of everything and calmed the storm. He was in control the entire time. We will miss out on God’s destiny for us because we fight him all the time.  Just remember when the Lord sends you into chaos, he is in complete control. He is with you in the midst of the chaos and is the creator and controller of all things. Give him your life, focus on him and breathe. Thank You Jason for the words of encouragement and reminding us that we all need to rely on the Lords trust and righteous path.  At the end of the night we had 13 boats fishing on Saturday. We blasted the 13 boats off as soon as it was safe light after a two hour fog delay. Congratulations to the Team of John Odom and Joe turner weighing in a big sack of fish 14.55 pounds to take 1^st place. Second place team of Marty Long and J D Davis weighed in 10.64 and a big largemouth weighing 4.29 lbs to take big fish pot. Third place went to Danny Hardy and Nathan White with a weight of 9.42 lbs. Rounding out the top 5 was Tony Lister and James Richerson with 7.17 lbs and Anthony Boyett and Brian Metcalf with 7.15 lbs.  At the end of the day there were 49 bass brought to the scales and released alive to be caught another day.  The 49 bass weighed a total of 82.54 lbs.  The points race is supper tight at this point of the tournament season.
