Our first tournament of the year was held on Lake Verret at Bayside Tackle. We had 37 boats!! Our meeting was held at the American Legion Hall in Pierre Part. We had crawfish etouffee, rice, potato salad and bread. Our message was given by our assistant director Winston Michel. The message was based on not forgetting about serving the Lord in the good and bad times during our life.
The tournament began with prayer led by Winston Michel. The weather was mostly cloudy and cold, but there were plenty of limits caught. 1st place went to Jimmy Charbonnet and Donnie Spurlock with a weight of 17.03 lbs. 2nd place went to Jacob Mayer and Marlon Karpinski with a weight of 16.75 lbs. 3rd place went to Vernon Silver and Gerald Butler with a weight of 15.51 lbs. 4th place went to Michael Scalise and Derek Lejeune with a weight of 15.19 lbs. 5th place went to Blake Bourque and Joey Stein with a weight of 14.51 lbs. 6th place went to William and Donnie Holley with a weight of 13.52 lbs. 7th place went to Chris Cordell and Byron Keith with a weight of 13.38 lbs. Big bass also went to William and Donnie Holley with a weight of 5.05 lbs.
We want to thank 23rd Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin for sponsoring the meal for our Friday night meeting. We also want to thank Tina Cavalier, Tyler Cavalier and Ed Landry for helping prepare the food.
