Day two of the Fishers of Men National Championship is in the books from beautiful Lake Hartwell in Anderson South Carolina. 135 teams were trying to catch enough weight today to keep them fishing on Saturday as the Championship field has been cut to the top 27 Teams. The first place team will go home with a new BassCat Cougar FTD powered by a 250 HP Mercury Pro XS valued over $60,000.

The second day from Lake Hartwell started out with clouds and a threat of rain, the change in the weather conditions had the anglers changing up their fishing patterns from day one.Even with changing fishing conditions today 125 teams still managed to bring a five fish limit to the scales

The SC Upstate team of Sammy Moody and Hank O Shields started the day in third place and brought a limit of fish to the scales weighing 17.12 lbs. giving them a two day total of 34.56 lbs. thus moving them into first place. Jason Burroughs and Darren Ashley from SC Upstate came to the scales with the heaviest stringer of the day weighing 19.07 lbs. moving them from fifteenth place all the way to second place with a two day total of34.08 lbs. Michael & Jon Anders from SC Upstate moved up from fifth place into third place with a five fish limit today weighing 15.99 lbs. bringing their two day total to 31.70 lbs. The VA West team of Tony & Penny McCraw brought in 16.41 lbs. of fish today giving them a two day total of 31.58 lbs. moving them up from twelfth place into fourth place. The SC Upstate team of Chris Coleman & Truett Hill made the biggest move of the day moving up from thirtieth place into fifth place. The teams 17.91 catch today gave them a two day total of 31.48 lbs.
 
Big Fish for day two went to the team of Malcom Smith and Gary Christen weighing in a 5.81 lb. Largemouth.
Weather conditions for Saturday is calling for cloudy skies and possible rain with temperatures in the low 60’s.
