The District 9 Championship on Dale Hollow kicked off Thursday night at Burkesville Baptist Church where the members fed our anglers with an outstanding meal of Pulled Port, Chicken, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw and some of the best homemade desserts you have ever laid your mouth on. Youth Pastor Nathan Britt brought a great message about how God is always pursuing a relationship with us, even when we are far away just like the Prodigal son. Several decisions were made for The Lord

Day 1 dawned clear with a slight ripple on the water. With dropping water levels and hot temperatures the dock talk was that fishing was tough but as usual some teams always figure them out.

Leading the pack on Day 1 was the always tough team of Doug Coulter and Todd Wilson who brought 16.72 lbs to the scales including the Day 1 Big Fish a 5.33 lb brute.  In 2nd place TJ Wilcher and Michael Carrier brought 16.52 lbs to the scales. In 3rd was the team of Chris Ring and Josh Clark whose limit tipped the scales at 15.25 lbs. In 4th PlaceJeff and John Carman brought 15.05 to the scales. Rounding out the top 5 was the team of Jason White ad David Burgess who weighed 14.95 lbs
