Brad Peyton & Brandon Benton win at Lake Norman and bring home $3,200 plus $1,000 bonus from Rock Outdoors
NC Piedmont Division had our second tournament of the season and our first ever morning meeting at Lake Norman. We packed 116 fishermen in our 20 x 40 tent which was also a record for the number of folks attending our meeting. We had biscuits, donuts, coffee and drinks as Marty Nester delivered a message and facilitated the meeting.
Saturday was cold with the wind chill around 20 degrees as we blasted off 59 boats. The fish were biting with 44 limits brought to the scales. Most bags of fish were made up of spotted bass but the key to the good sacks was having a mixed bag of large mouth and spots and a kicker large mouth. The team of Brad Peyton & Brandon Benton was able to weigh-in 2 spots and 3 large mouth with a big kicker to top the leader board with 15.31 lbs. and take home $3,200. 2nd place went to Christopher Ellis & Nathan White with 14.58 lbs. and $1,000. The team of Robert Branson & Andrew Wilson weighed in 14.53 lbs. and won over $1,600 for 3rd place and Big Fish 6.79 lbs. The balance of the teams in the money were 4th place Cody Thompson & Ethan Cox, 5th place Tony Foster & Steve Sink, 6th place Jeff McQuaige & Eric Moser, 7th place Samuel Thomas & John Harris, 8th place Scott and Matt Henley, 9th place Dusty Taylor & Kolton Hawks, 10th place Ray Furr & Dean Lambeth and 11th place Sonny Beam & Bo Russell.
Our Berkley Cast for Cash winner was Brad Peyton & and 2nd place was Cody Thompson & Ethan Cox
Brad Peyton won the $1,000 bonus for winning the tournament in a boat purchased from Rock Outdoors.
The team of James Ogle & David Wallace won free entry fee for the team out of the money drawing. And Bo Russell won the $150 Legends drawing.
We learned a few things at this first time morning meeting and will be able to push back the registration and meeting times at our next event. The times are posted on the details of the Hickory tournament.
Come join us at our next event at Lake Hickory March 28th. Our meeting at this tournament will be right before blastoff. We will not be accepting entry fees the morning of the tournament unless you are having problems with the web site and have called me earlier. All entries are due in by midnight Thursday March 26th.
