Results for the Fort Gibson, July 17th tournament

It was another hot day, with the water temperature around 82 degrees.  It was also a tuff day for the teams, with only three weighing fish.  The team of Gilmark Labitad and Yao Xiong was the only one that managed a five-fish limit, winning the event for them.  They weighed in 11.35 pounds.  The win clinched the division championship for them.  They earned an automatic entry into the National Championship.  Like the other two teams that caught fish, they said they just had to go "junk fishing" and threw shaky heads and Texas rigs on points all over the lake.  They also placed first in the Bonus Bucks pot.

The team of Randy Owens and Kevin Scaggs came in second and second in the Bonus Bucks.  They caught four fish weighing 8.99 pounds, anchored by the big bass of the day at 3.67 pounds, fishing crankbaits around rip rap.

Steve Gloden managed to catch one Bass that earned him 3rd in the Bonus Bucks.  He caught his fish on a trick worm.  He also won the "junk fish" pot, earning $70.00 with a big Flathead.

Our last stop for the season is the district championship at Lake Dardanelle.  The 2022 schedule will be out in September.  Look forward to having more teams next year!
