Story by Steve Jennings

Photos by Cole Rankin

Friday Night Meeting was at Kingston Pike Baptist Church.  The church family  provide the fishermen with some of the best barbeque in the south.  After everyone had eaten, Rod Garrett delivered a message about the gospel road and how we as Christian are to be a shinning light to the lost.

Saturday morning the Fishers of Men gang awoke to partly cloudy skies and warm breeze blowing across the lake which made for a nice day to fish.  As the proceeded there would be time of overcast and bright sunshine making for an interesting day to fish.

First place Ameriprise Award went to White Pine Pro Staffers Brian Jordan and Michael Smith.  This team came to the scales with 5  fish weighing in at 13.22 lbs.  Brian reported running their Mercury powered boat down to the lower end of the lake to catch their fish.  This talented team used a big crankbait to catch their fish off points fishing around 15 feet of water.  They credit their Dixie Custom Rod Ledge Rockets which allowed them to make longer cast to get their plugs to greater depths.  This team is sponsored by Mercury,  Dixie Custom Baits, Tote Rite and White Pine Marine.

Second place went to the team Trinity Cawood and Cole Rankin.  This knowledgeable team came to the scales with 5 bass weighing in at 11.78 lbs.  They also had the lunker of the tournament a fat 4.89-pound largemouth bass.  Cole  reported running his beautiful Mercury powered BassCat all over the lake to catch their fish.  They chased the shad spawn early in the day to catch fish on topwater.  Later in the went to fishing deep off main lake points.  This team is sponsored by BassCat Boats, Mercury outboard, and White Pine Marine.

Third place went to the team of  the Dr. Ronny Jones and Bailey Fain came in with 5 fish weighing in at 11.25 pounds. Bailey reported running their Mercury powered boat around the mid-section of the lake to caught over 20 fish flipping docks on the main lake.
