The District 2 Championship on Lake Jordan kicked off Thursday night with our meeting and meal hosted by The Elmore County Economic Development Authority. Special thanks to Cary Cox and all he worked with to roll out the red carpet for our anglers.

Jim Hardy brought a great message about having God in all areas of our lives and a number of decisions were made.

Friday morning dawned clear and rather warm for Oct 1st with afternoon temps pushing into the low 90's but someone always gets on the fish.

Leading Day 1 was the team of Jay Grogan and Ryan Ingram who rode the strength of the Day 1 Big Fish, a 5.30 lb beauty to a 15.43 lb bag to set the bar.

In 2nd was the team of Tony Lister and James Richerson Jr who brought a nice limit weighing 13.63 lbs to the scales.

in 3rd was the team of Kelly Jacks and Todd Rauschenberger who weighed 12.80 lbs

4th was our leading Male/Female Team of Kent and Shannon Ware who brought 11.79 lbs to the scales.

Rounding out the Top 5 was the team of Brian Maihala and Tony Hill who weighed 11.48 lbs

The 17th place check cut after Day 1 stood at 9.25 lbs so stay tuned as this is anybody's ball game and 1 Big Fish on Day 2 could be the differnce of going home Champions or making the cut to fish The Fishers of Men National Championship next spring.
