About the Series

The Shakespeare Legacy Series is a relaxed family centered fishing series. A Legacy team consists of one adult and one or more junior partners. This format allows the avid fishermen to compete in a first class event while allowing junior anglers the opportunity to experience the excitement and competition of tournament fishing. In Legacy the adult member is required to purchase a Fishers of Men membership but junior angler's fish free.

Legacy division directors plan to hold their events during prime fishing time and at locations that allow for a great day of fishing. A series consists of two or more tournaments which can consist of a Friday night pre-tournament meeting followed by the Tournament on Saturday, or a one day event on Saturday with a meeting after the tournament day. Legacy event meetings include an inspirational message, door prizes for the kids, and food if possible.

A championship is held at the end of the tournament year prior to the kids returning to school. To qualify for this event a team must fish in one Legacy Series event and pay the $100.00 entry fee. Any team finishing in the top 15% or top 10, whichever is greater, will be eligible to fish in the Team Series Championship with a chance to win one of the BassCat/Mercury prize packages.

Legacy tournament fishing hours are set by the director and normally run from safe light until 1:00 p.m. entry fees are $80.00 per event with one team out of every three receiving a check.

Pass along the Legacy and take a kid fishing.
