Lake Lanier Round 2
April 12, 2025
Our 4th stop of the season found us back at Lake Lanier for the second time this year, and of course, as expected it did not disappoint!! As you know the main focus of our ministry is the Friday night meeting and this one was certainly annoited. Becuase of some last minute cancellations, I had to scramble to find a venue to hold our meeting. As God always provides, this time was no different. As a Veteran of the united State Army, I was able to secure the American Legion Post 7 in Gainesville, GA. It was an honor to hold the event there. To start the meeting off, we did something I had not done since I was in school, and that was to have everyone recite the Pledge of Allegiance and it was very moving in that place.
We were blessed to have my Pastor, Will Anglin of New Beginnings Community Church in Dawsonville give the message and it was powerful. He titled the message "IT MATTERS" and he drove home the point the importance of the little things in our walk with Christ. As amany of you know, we always ask that our anglers fill out the cards after the message and often times we find the anglers just won't fill them out as it always seems redundant, but becuase they truly understood that "It Matters," we had a tremendous response with many prayer requests on the back. We also had one young man rededicate his life the Lord!! My Chaplain and I were really moved by it and shared the experiecne as a tesitmony at our Sunday morning church service, which in turn, got our entire church involved in praying over those requests. The truth is, It Matters, and when the body of Christ comes together as one, we see mountains moved and prayers answered!!
As for the fishing, it was awesome as well. It could never overshadow the experience of Friday night, but we ceratinly enjoyed a fantatsic day of fishing. Although it started out a little chilly, the weather turned out absolutley gorgeous. We ahd 30 boats fish with us and Scooter and Levi laid the hammer down on some bedded fish bringing a whopper of 8.16lbs to the scales, tipping the total weight at 23.13lbs! See photos below!! It's amazing to see that 18lbs harldy ever gets you in the money anymore on this lake. With this catch, I think they may have locked in AOY. Of course they still have to finish strong at Lake Hartewell in May.
