Chilly start to the 2026 Virginia East season, that turned into a beautiful spring day! We had 46 teams show up to help kick the season off, late winter fishing can be hit or miss on the Chickahominy River and we had a day that was a little of both.
Friday we were graciously hosted by Four Mile Creek Baptist church, who provided a great barbeque meal for our teams complete with cake and ice cream for dessert! One of our long running Fishers of Men members gave a heartfelt message on suicide and our precious God given lives both earthly and eternal.
Saturday was a beautiful day, and while the fishing was generally tough several teams were able to bring some qualtiy bags to the scales. The team of Daniel and Ryan Grattan topped the field with 23.69lbs, in second was Yates/Allen with 19.24lbs.
3rd: Coluccio/Williams 18.77lbs
4th: McCrickard/Rollins 16.09lbs
5th: Dodson/Dodson 15.59lbs
Our 10th place team had the 8.53lb Realtree Monster bass of the event!
