Saturday June 27th 2026, 4 teams braved the Florida heat and the John’s Lake waters to see who would be crowned John’s Lake Champions. The anglers arrived approximately 0515 hours to have their live wells checked and put their boats into the waters. While Director Joe met them at the lake and checked them out, one by one the anglers got ready for the day ahead. Who would snatch up the biggest bag, which team would have the bragging rights? Inside this tournament was a little brother’s bragging rights tournament between Jase and JohnMarc Moyer, who would prevail? With temperatures in the uppers 80s at blast off it was evident it was going to be a scorcher. After the Director prayed for the day ahead and the anglers were sent off into the waters to search for God’s creations on John’s Lake. Would we see a repeat winner or would someone new snag the title? In the end the Father-Son duo of Matt and Connor Fair would tip the scales at 14.17 pounds anchored by a 3.60 pound bass and take crown as Champions of John’s Lake for 2026 making them back to back repeat winners on the season coming off their win at Lake Panasoffkee. Coming in second was the Father-Son team of Billy Taylor and Chase Taylor with an 7.35 pound bag. Rounding out the top three was the newcomer team of Brad Winnings and Jase Moyer with a 2.66 pound bag. Bringing up the rear was the Father-Son team of Joe Moyer and JohnMarc Moyer with a 1.83 pound bag which earned JohnMarc the bragging rights title of more fish caught than his brother since he caught one of the two fish his team weighed in and his brother did not but his brother Jase’s team won the bragging rights portion for having the most weight brought to the scales. Director Joe brought an inspirational message on the feeding of the 5000 while the anglers chowed down on pizza to end the day. All the kids won door prizes and the teams departed for the day enroute to their respective homes until the next meeting. It was a great end to the season as we are cancelling the final tournament of the season due to low lake levels and heat. Get ready for next year as it’s going to be a good one! Thank you for all your support and dedication to the kid’s division and this ministry.
