Event number two is in the book’s folks, and oh what a great event it was. We started with the Friday night pre-tournament meeting where Cross & Spurs Cowboy Church at Buchanan Dam, TX fed 84 family members and anglers. It was an incredible meal; we are so blessed to call the members of that church family. Pastor Sawyer delivered a message regarding the path to heaven, that it is only through the Jesus, our Savior that we will enter through the gates. The message was heard and well received, we celebrate the fact that 3 individuals rededicated their lives to Christ and one made a first-time commitment to follow Christ. The angels in heaven rejoiced heavily just as the word says.

We had an amazing raffle and were able to raise money for a local ministry that goes door to door to share love and prayers for the household. We also raised enough money to cover the cost for a small piece of land for a church to in Honduras. What a blessing it is to give back, to help those in need and to love others because he first loved us. So blessed to have anglers fishing with us that are selfless and have a heart for Christ and his children.

Saturday morning, we saw high winds which resulted in a trailering event. Anglers passed through a central location and where live wells were checked, and they made their way to get on the water to battle it out. At the end of the day, we saw many teams coming to the scales with bags containing limits of 5 fish. Hal Gatewood and John Baseke found the heaviest 5 out there for the day, the two came in with 20.42 pounds of fish, anchored with the events Real Tree Monster Bass honors that landed the scales on 9.58.  Behind them was the team of Mike Nichelini and Frank Ono. They reported to the scales with a limit weighing 18.82lbs. Third place was held by the team of Phillip Massoletti and William Bristow, the two came in with 18.80lbs. Following close behind Christopher Noel and Shawn Fischer, who had a limit weighing in at 18.26lbs. Steven Springer and James Woods grabbed 5th place with a limit weighing 17.61lbs. Sixth place was the team of Andy Whitehead and Kevin Hurley with a limit of fish settling the scales at 17.30. The last paid spot was grabbed by Chester Jenke and Trevor Rogge with a limit of bass weighing 16.37.

We finished the day with paying back entry fees to two teams that stuck around and congratulated the winners.

What a great event this was, truly amazed at all the anglers, the great attitudes, the fellowship that took place and his presence through it all. We are so blessed to steward this division for his glory and his honor.

We are looking forward to Lake Austin in March; we will see some giants for sure.
