The 2nd tournament of the 2025 season was held out of Tydings Park in Havre de Grace, MD. The weather was cloudy, windy, and threatening until it finally dumped on us around weigh in time! There were many fished weighed in including 2) 23 lb bags!
New to Fishers of Men, the team of Jackson Staib and David Andrews won the event with a total weight of 23.78 lbs. This team had the fish figured out with 5 solid fish! Second place was the tough team of Shawn Skobel and Gary Crayton who weighed in 23.47 lbs. Tom and Jimmy had 3rd place with 20.74 lbs. and that bag included the big fish of 6.31 lbs.
4th place went to Jeff Choi and Alicia Mull with a great bag of 20.50 lbs. Joe and Joey Johnson continued their strong season with a 5th place finish and 19.65 lbs. Jon Crans and son Ian Crans (subbing for Paul Wiley) weighed in 19.24 lbs for 6th place and barely missed the big fish prize with a 6.21 lb giant. Shawn Ramey and Evan Roache brought in a solid limit of 18.44 lbs for 7th place.
Joe and Joey are now leading the points series by 3 points over Tom and Jimmy who are 2 points ahead of Paul and John after 2 tournaments! The teams are close together after 2 events.
We would like to welcome new teams: Jackson Staib/David Andrews, Mike Reilly/Max Meister, Michael Rupp/Robert Murphy, and Paul Renardo. It was nice to meet and fish with these fine people.
Thank you to the First Baptist Church of Havre de Grace for again providing a wonderful meal and event location. Pastor Jimmy Rufenacht delivered an excellent message about the blessedness of those that haven’t seen but believe as Jesus said to Thomas.
