The third event for the Ohio Team Series is complete.
Again this year the Indian Lake Community Church opened its doors to us for our Friday night meeting. Thanks to Pastor Jim Ellington and the church for making us welcome. The meal provided by the ladies of the church was great as always with all the lasagna you could eat along with salad, green beans, garlic bread and dessert. After the meal Pastor Jim brought us the message and how to obtain salvation. The choice is ours to accept the gift of salvation and follow Jesus.
After the meal and message we held a short meeting to recognize our sponsors and go over launch and weigh-in process. After the short meeting we handed out raffle and door prizes and had our boat draw. At 7:45 p.m. we adjourned and everyone headed home to get ready for tournament day.
Saturday was predicted to be a sunny warm day which we have had few of this spring. After boat check and sunrise, 27 boats were launched from the Moundwood boat ramp on Indian Lake. Spring fishing on Indian is usually good with not always large bags of fish, but a lot of limits. When released, the boats headed out in search of those limits of green fish.
All teams returned to the check-in location on time and started bringing fish to the scales. Our winners for the day were the father and son team of Justen and Ty Fain with a five fish limit weighing 11.14 lbs. Justen and Ty have been fishing with us for years and have become one of the top teams in every event. Congratulations and a great job! Second place went to the team of Hunter Colwell and Colton Wreede with a limit weighing 10.52 lbs. Tony Daniels and Darrell Gallagher finished third with five bass weighing 10.17 lbs. Fourth was Gary Sindelir and John Duwel with a weight of 9.92 lbs. Holding fifth was B.J. Baxter and Todd Thompson with 9.92 lbs., which included the tournament big bass weighing 3.71 lbs. There were a total of twenty limits and one hundred twelve fish weighed in.
Thanks to all the teams that fished with us and hope to see you in June at Grand Lake St. Marys.
