Fishers of Men would like to give a HUGE "THANK YOU" to our first time host church, Faith Baptist Church. If you missed out, let us share with you are involvement for our third stop of the 2019 season. The fine folks here treated us to a WONDERFUL meal of ribeye steaks (yes sir, ribeye steaks), baked potato, salad, bread, pound cake and homemade "naner" pudding. The hospitality shown to us was as sweet as the desserts. What a tremendous outpouring of support, down to having all the condiments in individual containers just right for the picking. As Pastor Jamie stated, "we want to love you, right where you are." The evening continued to demostrate God's love for us through music and testimony of Preacher Pat. All attending were in "awe" at what can happen when the Lord gets a hold of you. As a man who spent numerous years in prison before Jesus, the last 12 have been on the other side of the bars, with his prison ministry. Thanks for the inspiration!!
Saturday morning dawned and the teams were eager to get going on the beautiful lake of Richard B. Russell. Before teams took to fishing, a moment of silence, prayer and reflection was observed in remembrance of one of our own, Kevin Brumfield. (Thanks for the support and a way to honor him). The temperature was a tad bit cool, at 50 degrees, but by weigh-in time the mercury had risen to 79 degrees. Teams reported catching numerous fish and having fun all day. Leading the field was the team of Jason Snyder and Eddie Landreth, they weighed in 18.90 pounds, with a big fish of 5.53. Second place went to Strong/Strong with 17.39. Rounding out the top three was Jackson/Snyder with 16.38. Congrats to all and we look forward to seeing you at Lake Hartwell soon!!
