Opening day here in NY turned out to be a pleasent one. While a little windy, we had some sun and no rain. Eleven teams converged on Oneida Shores launch at 5AM for a beautiful sunrise and a day of fishing and fellowship. We were successful in both as 55 fish were weighed in and released for a total of 144.53lbs. Team average weight of 13.14 lbs and average fish weight of 2.63lbs. It was a day of narrow victories as the Battle for 1st place went to Tony Bush and John Laskowski with a 17.42lb bag of Largemouth, edging out th defending points champions from 2018, Adam Weidman and Stephen Enck who weighed in 17.29lbs. Third place went to Father son team of Josh and Larry Hart with 15.62lbs, narrowly edging out another father son team of Josh and Cameron Kreider at 15.41lbs. The battle for Big Bass was even closer as Brad Rightnour and Matt Smith wrestled in a 4.74lb Smallmouth edging out the Bush/Laskowski largemouth who weighed in at 4.73lbs. In addition to our 2 father son teams we also had 3 Husband wife teams who competed. We look forward to another good time as NY North will return to Oneida lake on the 29th due to severe flooding in Sandy Pond.
