This weekend was the first tournamet of the 2024 South Central Kentucky division on Dale Hollow Lake. Friday night our meeting was held at the Burkesville Baptist Church with guest speaker Montel Richardson. He spoke about Matthew 4:19 and what it is to be a "fisher of men". Burkesville Baptist out did themselves once again with their awesome pork shoulder, chicken, sides and famous dessert table as well. It a was a great time of devotion, fellowship and food.
Twenty-one boats set the tone and blasted off Saturday morning searching for that winning limit of fish, with most teams saying they struggled during practice. As some teams still struggled to find fish throughout the day, some did not. Resulting in 1st place going to team Grigsby & Pointer with 15.33. Ted Grigsby said "our first limit came on a BC LURE, bubba bug jig, after that it was a even split between a jig and soft plastics. His partner, Kelly Pointer, then figured out a pattern and started catching better quality fish later in the day. Coming in 2nd place and having big fish of the day, was team Oliver & Oliver with 14.48 and 4.12 big fish. David Oliver shared, their fish came off secondary points using a jig and shakey head. In 3rd place was team Thompson & Murray with 14.08. Shane Thompson said "we caught them on a jig and a carolina rig". We caught a small limit early on wood then upgraded with a carolina rig on shell flats. Rounding out the top 4 money spots in 4th place was team Bivens & Taylor with 13.06. Steve Taylor said said their bag came off a jig and soft plastics as well.
