On 6/22/2024 the birth of the Florida North Legacy Division arrived. Four teams took the waters of beautiful Lake Crescent in Crescent City Florida. Nine total anglers grinning from ear to ear set out to chase Gods creation.... the black Bass! God held back the storms and the rain and granted our petitions for overcast skies for our anglers to fish in. Out of our four boats, 3 out of 4 were fishing in thier first tournament ever, and one was fishing a tournament for the first time without his dad guiding him. All of them were ecstatic to be there! I was blessed to be there putting it on for them. Overcast skies and 77 degrees maintained until around 8 am then the clouds parted and the sun came out rising the temps up reaching right at 90 degrees by the 1pm weigh-in time. This was a three fish limit tournament and the anglers arrived at 1pm with their catches, three of which had limits, all had fish. All were grinning ear to ear despite the heat. As we wighed in the fish we got to hear the stories of their day which brought smiles to all. One team was to be crowned inagural champion.... that team was the team of TJ Wildes and Kenny Hunnicut which dropped a massive three fish limit of 14.46 pounds anchored by a 6.58 big fish that would hold on to be the big fish of the tournament. The team of Caleb Jacques and Robert Burton Jr came in second place with a three fish limit of 6.58. Third place honors and the early bird entry check went to the team of Clay Moody, Reed Brickel, and William Moody with a three fish limit of 4.69. Rounding out the field with a total weight of 2.79 pounds was the team of Jake Middleton and Christopher Middleton. Weigh-in concluded with a total weight of 28.70 pounds and ZERO dead fish thanks to the anglers diligence of fish conservation!. Once weign-in concluded, our Chaplain brought a message with questions for our anglers to ponder while they ate pizza and waters and gatorade helped them to rehydrate. Door prizes were given out to all the anglers and everyone stated they had a blast and couldn't wait for the next one. GOD IS GOOD Y'ALL!  The city of Crescent was awesome to us and engaged with us the whole time which was a blessing. Stay tuned y'all as we watch God work in the lives of these youth and their parents!
