Lake Gaston Friday night meeting 4-29-16
The site of our third Fishers Of Men N.C. Central tournament was beautiful Lake Gaston. Our Friday night meeting was hosted by Lake Gaston Baptist Church. This faithful group of believers have hosted us for 17 years.
This is probably a record in all of Fishers of Men. They fed our group of 150 people N.C.style barbecue with all the fixins and cake and ice cream for dessert.
One of their own, Zack Antill, who is a N.C.game warden and strong Christian brought the messege. Zack was able to relate his experiences as a wildlife officer to the fishermen and hunters in the crowd. Boy he got his message across! We had 13 re-dedications. Praise the Lord!
Sat. morning 4-30-16
As the 56 teams prepared to take off, they were greeted with misting rain and a cool breeze. As the day progressed the rain stopped but the cloudy cool weather stuck around.
When the first flight started coming in it was obvious the points standings were going to change.
The team of Joey Davis and Larry Stevens took 1st place with 17.54 lbs. and a $3,484.00 payday. They also took the points lead.
A close 2nd were Tony Barham and Terry Hobbs with 16.96 lbs. and winnings of $1,583.00.
The local team of Ricky Todd and Andy Liles came in 3rd with 15.32 lbs.
Tied for 4th place were Ronnie Pope and Matthew Parker and our Legacy Director, Pat Williams and son Kevin with 15.12 lbs.
The big fish weighing 6.38 lbs. was caught by the 2nd place team of Terry Hobbs and Tony Barham.
28 teams weighed in a 5 fish limit.
Our next tournament will be May 21,2016 at Jordan Lake.
