Mosquito Creek Lake, OH - 06/05/21
Our 2nd event on Mosquito Creek Lake in Ohio was a hot one with a tough bite. Started out at 70 degreees at launch and topped out almost 88. Due to vacations, on 11 teams competed and only a few limits were caught. With water temps fluctuating 15 degrees in the last 2 weeks, it had the fish all over the place, challenging anglers to connect. Water temps were ranging form 68-72 degrees.
Fish were caught mostly in the thick grass or pads along the banks. Some teams reported flipping grass or tossing frogs was how they got their bites and found small schools of fish to cycle thru. A few teams found fish off shore fish, which were caught in key areas that were found on structure.
Top 20% of the field gets paid so only 2 places on this event.
1st place finishing team was Sam Fulmer and John Allen. Their winning bag was 12 lbs 6 oz for 5 fish including big fish of the day which was 3 lbs 11 oz.
2nd place team was Dustin Dennis and Joe 0sgood. They weighed in 5 fish for 12 lbs even.
Great job to everyone else who came and battled the heat, boat traffic and the tough bite!
