Mueller & Frierson take over the lead on Day 2

The SC Lowcountry team of Ronnie Mueller and Wayne Frierson are no strangers to top finishes in Fishers of Men Championships. In fact in 2007 they took home the trophies of National Champions. In the 24 years the FOM National Championship has been in existence we have never had a 2 time Champion, but when they launch their boat in the morning they will be in the driver’s seat and will be attempting to do something no one else has ever been able to do and that is claim the title as the first 2 time Champion.

Today the duo rode another Big Fish, an 8.17 lb Brute to the top of the standing with a 2 day total of 39 lbs even. If they can make it last on more day they will take home a Basscat Puma/Mercury 250 ProXS rig valued at $70,000

The Day 1 leaders David and Jeff Suratt dropped one place today but still sit within easy striking distance with a 2 Day total of 36.52 lbs

The Husband/Wife team of Mark and Audrey Bayse continued to march up the standing today ending up in 3^rd with 33.04 lbs

One of the biggest movers today was the team of Joe Lloyd and Daun Nicholson who caught one of only two 19 lb + bags to vault all the way to 4^th

Rounding out the top 5 is the team of Brandon Wilcher and Glenn page whose 2 day weight is 32.41 lbs.

It took 24.55 lbs to make the Cut to the Championship Flight. All 37 teams who made the cut leave the dock tomorrow with a guaranteed payday of at least $1000 so we will likely see some swinging for the fences tomorrow and Guntersville is the type of Lake where if you connect you can come from a long ways back to make a run at the title. Good luck to all 37 Championship contenders.

Also on tap tomorrow is our popular 3^rd Day redemption Tournament where those teams not making the cut have their weights zeroed and fish in a no entry fee event for a shot at taking home some cash paid to the top 5 teams.
