What a way to get our season started! On Friday evening we had 46 men and women at our meeting. We were hosted by SRM with a wonderful meal followed by a very uplifting devotionial from Jeff Hollingshead. Jeffs main point was endurance. He reminded us how every day is not always going to be good. He compared this with fishing. Some days you catch them in numbers and size and other days can not get a bite but you keep makeing that one more cast with the hope of that big bite. Same way in life. You have to keep going forward even when times are tough with that hope of better days and knowing that one day if you keep the course you will be with GOD. Thanks jeff, I always and uplifted when I here you speak.
On Saturday morning 27 boats left in search of the winning 5 bass. Of course we had to have a cold front blowing through with 10-25 mph winds all day. Some found them and some did not. 1st place went to Tad Jenkins & Chad Fulchum with 20.37 with a largemouth weighing 7.43 for big fish. 2nd was the team of Jeremy Ethridge & Jay Melton with 5 beautiful smallmouth weighing 18.16. 3rd was Robert Brownlee & Kent McAfee with 16.36, 4th was Steve & Chad Sentell with 13.72 and 5th was Cory Hale & Daniel Lefebvre with13.35. 2nd big fish was a 5.41 largemouth from Larry Morgan & Bryan Biggers.
