Well that is a wrap for stop number 3 of the 2025 season and wow did it fish tough.... for most anyway!

The weekend started off with our friday night meeting at our new Ministry Partners, South Putnam Church, The Cube! The South Putnam Mens Ministry and Pastor Daniel Jones welcomed us with open arms and an enormous amount of hommade food to fill the bellies of our anglers and their families. To say it was anything short of amazing would be an understatement! Thank you gentlemen! Pastor Daniel opened us up in Prayer and the meeting commenced. While the anglers fellowshipped and ate the tender viddles prepared for us we were once again blessed to have received an inspirational message from Mr. Miller Murdaugh who came with a fire in his belly and a message that challenged us all and made us all think long and hard about our walk with the Lord. After the message, Director Joe and Jesse gave us the ground rules for the tournament, imparted knowledge of upcoming events within the division and we then prepared for boat draw while Jase told some fishing tales from his time fishing against his daddy. After the boat assignments were issued, the anglers departed and  set off to prepare for the tournament.

A cool 51 degree morning and a 28 boat crappie tournament welcomed the anglers to the Margary Neal Nelson boat ramp in their attempts to tackle Crescent Lake. 17 teams would set out on the lake to see who would be crowned Crescent Lake Commanders! The day capped off at 76 degrees and the skies remained sunny and bright for most of the day. The anglers would start returning to the docks at 2:30pm setting the tone that the day was a rough one. Five teams came to the scales empty-handed proving that the tone was not just a tone, it truly was a rough day. Only 7 limits were brought to the scales out of the 17 teams for a total tournament weight of 92.64 pounds.

The team of Billy Taylor and William McDevitt had to team up on their weigh-in bag to bring it to the scales enroute to their dominant win with a total weight of 24.79 pounds anchored by the big fish of the day coming in at 7.39 pounds which also took over the big fish of the season honors crowning them the Crescent Lake Commanders! The team of James Romig and Coltyn Morris came in second place with a nice 16.08 pound bag of Crescent Lake bass. Rounding out the paychecks for the day and coming in third place was the team of Justin Bythwood and Patrick Pierce with a total weight of 9.85 pounds. The Team of Year Points Champion race is heating up and with two stops left it appears that it will be a race to the end!

Stay tuned for our next stop on Lake Santa Fe. Our tournament meeting will be at Trinity Baptist Church of Keytone Heights. We will be taking the month of April off in consideration of those who are fishing the National Championships in April. Our Santa Fe tournament will be May 3rd and you wont want to miss it!
